How to Perfectly Package your Sugar Cookie Platter Sets

How to Perfectly Package your Sugar Cookie Platter Sets

One of the questions I am often asked about my platter set designs, is how on earth do you package this set?!  Platter sets can be intimidating for that reason, but they don't have to be complicated! Beautifully packing this set it is easier than you thought!  I am going to lay it out for you step by step in this blog post and I will also provide you with some suggestions on sourcing your perfect holiday packaging this season!

What you need:

What you will need:

  1. Your decorated platter set
  2. Some prepared royal icing in a tipless piping bag in your colour of choice, on the thicker side is best, so somewhere between a pipe consistency and a floral consistency.
  3. A cake board cut to size (ensure this will fit in both your cello bags and your box)
  4. Box of choice
  5. Your bells and whistles, things such as ribbon, tags, the extras that make it pop!

Lets do it, step by step...

The first step may be to cut your cake board to size.  I purchase large rectangular slab cake boards and cut them down to size myself.  That way I am not search for a million different sized pre cut boards.  I can make whatever size I need!

Gently placing each cookie over the icing and securing in place.

Allow icing to dry in open air for an hour or two.  Then place inside large cello bag, and seal with heat sealer.

Place the entire sealed platter in your box of choice, close it, bow it, and gift that beauty to someone. you love!  If you wanted to make these ahead of time, you can seal them all up as shown, pop them in the freezer in their boxes, then 24 hours before you need them, remove them from the freezer.  Let them thaw as is on the counter for 24 hours then you are good to go!  If you are going to do this, do not crack the box throughout the freezing process, your cookies could condensate and ruin your hard work!
